GRADE 10 SUBJECT SELECTION AND PLACEMENT FOR 2027

Dear Parents and Learners,

The school wishes to inform all Grade 9 parents and learners about the subject selection and placement process for Grade 10 in 2027.

As communicated in our previous correspondence, the school will launch an online subject selection system through which all Grade 9 learners, in consultation with their parents or guardians, will be required to finalise their subject selections. The online system will provide learners with an opportunity to indicate their preferred subject stream and, where applicable, their preferred specialisation.

Parents and learners are requested to understand that indicating a preference does not automatically guarantee placement in a particular stream or specialisation. Final placement will be determined by the learner's academic performance, demonstrated abilities, subject suitability and the school's available teaching and workshop resources.

1. COMPULSORY SUBJECTS

All Grade 10 learners will take the following compulsory subjects:

1. English Home Language

2. Afrikaans First Additional Language OR IsiZulu First Additional Language

3. Life Orientation

Every Grade 10 learner will take a total of SEVEN (7) subjects. The remaining four subjects will be determined by the stream and specialisation in which the learner is placed.
